MAMPONG: MCE on “my first day at school and double track” tour
The Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Thomas Appiah Kubi has visited Bosofour D/A Primary in the Municipality as part of “my first day at school tour and selected Senior High Schools to familiarize himself with the on-going double track system introduced by the government to cater for the ever increasing number of student enrollment into the Senior High Schools.

He was accompanied on the tour by the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Gabriel Antwi, Senior High School Coordinator, Mr. Sallam Mohammed, Public Relations Officer of the Education Directorate, Mr. Samuel Best Yeboah and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Boakye Ansah.

Interacting with the first time pupils, Mr. Appiah Kubi welcomed them to the school and urged them to work hard towards accomplishing their parent’s dream of educating them.

The Municipal Chief Executive who is a product of the school charged them to always attend school and learn hard to be like them President of Ghana.



At St. Monica’s Senior High School, where the team were to welcome the fresh students under the double track, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Thomas Appiah Kubi charged the students to take their studies serious noting that, they had no excuse than to study since everything needed for their comfort in the school had been provided by the NPP Government.

He further stated that the NPP Government had the best policy as far as educating the Ghanaian school child was concern. “Currently your brothers and sisters in the Nursing and Teacher Training Schools are enjoying their allowances” MCE revealed.

The President’s representative assured the students of government’s preparedness to continue with the Free Senior High School programme and that there was no cause for alarm.

On his part, the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Gabriel Antwi commended the school authorities for putting all necessary structures in place for the double track.



He reiterated the MCE’s call for hard work and total studies noting that, it was the only surety to guarantee their future.

Madam Esther Ntudwa, the headmistress of St. Monica’s Senior High School commended the team for coming to her school to access the double track system.

She disclosed noted that the school was already prepared for the double track, the green holders were in school and orientation was currently going on.

At both Amaniampong Senior High School and St. Joseph Senior High School, the team observed that some parents and guardians were in the schools with their children to sort out their placement issues as many of them complained that their children’s names were in the original list placed in the schools but later got to find out that a new list had replaced the old list that had taken their name

The Municipal Chief Executive assured them government was very much concerned about their initial challenges and assured them that it would all be sorted out.
