She made this call at the Assembly’s maiden “Meet the Press” at the conference room of the Graduate school of nuclear and allied science, atomic.

She said, the benefits of voting yes in the 17th December referendum outweigh the disadvantage and therefore entreated residents to vote “YES” so that government can realize it goal of amending Article 55(3) of the 1992 constitution to allow people to contest for Assembly and unit committee election on party tickets.

Mrs. Tulasi said, the process would also allow the election of MMDCEs on partisan lines, which meant that the power for one to become a District, Municipal and Metropolitan Chief Executive will be vested in the people but not the president as it is in this current dispensation.

The program was attended by chiefs, leaders of various religious bodies, market women, media and other identifiable groups within the Ga East Municipality.
