Bookpiriyiri and Doggo Communities to benefit from dam and Climate Change Project respectively
Under the able Leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive for Jirapa, Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri, Bookpiriyiri and Doggo Communities will benefit from a dam and climate change project respectively this year under the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project2.

The Dam for Bookpiriyiri will facilitate dry season farming activities and provide water for their animals, construction works and several other social activities, while the climate change project for Doggo will generate income from proceeds of cashew seeds and other environmental benefits.

On 10th March, 2023 at a community sensitization program to officially inform community members about commencement of the two projects in their respective communities, Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri appealed to the people to fully cooperate and support the contractor to successfully work on the Projects.

He added, the policy framework of the projects by the government is to enhance social safety nets that improve the incomes and productivity of the poor in the country and provide work especially during off-farm season and ensure that monies for equipment is rather paid to the poor in the community in return for their services.

Mr. Nicholas Soyiri announced that, beneficiaries are entitled to daily wage of Fifteen Ghana Cedis (GH?15.00) for a period of six(6) working hours and will have the opportunity to work for a maximum of 120 days in a year to generate and create income earning opportunities through their participation in various forms of public works.
