However, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu in an interview with ghanadistricts.com disclosed that the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) has taken a decision on that particular area and will soon move into action to curtail the issue at Ahwiaa.

He said by April this year, construction of a police station in the community which is about 97% complete would start work, adding that the assembly would furnish the station, and also the chiefs have also promised in helping with accommodation for the police officers who would be transferred there.

Thus, the presence of a police station will facilitate the work of the police in dealing with such criminal activities on regular basis.

Currently, however, the police have started patrolling in that area at night, and this is expected to continue until some sanity is restored to the area.

The MCE further noted that the rumor that a teacher died after a school was attacked is a false rumor, and they are doing everything possible to limit the insecurity situation at Ahwiaa.
