According to her the follow up to this transfer was the posting of about 101 trained teachers to the district, a number far more than was taken away, to fill those vacant classrooms. “I can therefore confidently assure you of enough teachers in the district as now”, she stated.

She indicated that the role of education in human resource development cannot be overemphasized as such the Assembly with its stakeholders will do their best to help improve the education sector to be able to meet the needs of the citizens in the district.

Meanwhile, Madam, has disclosed that following numerous applications received from students who hail from the district but studying in various tertiary institutions for financial support, the Social Services Sub-committee was tasked to look into the issue; thus, the committee convened a meeting to look at the applications and subsequently gave approval for support to be given to 25 of the students.

“In view of the limited nature of our finances we could support each student with GHC 700.00”, she stated.
