N JUABEN N: MCE familiarizes with decentralized institutions in the municipality
The Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly, Comfort Asante has toured some decentralized institutions in the municipality to officially introduce herself to them.

The visits also formed part of grand plan to acquaint herself with their operations, build trust and cooperation in such a way that together they can pull resources, both human and material to develop the municipality.

As charity begins at home, the MCE first met the staff of the assembly, and thanked management and staff for their selflessness attitude towards work and urged them to do more.



She said though the Assembly is young, its doors are always opened to them for assistance of any kind.

Her next place of visit was at COCOBOD where she interacted with management also listened to some challenges the institution would want her to help address.



Notable among the concern was the issue of land documentation. The Regional Manager, Bernice Debra Eshun appealed to the Assembly to help them with proper documentation of their lands to enable them stop encroachment of other institutions and individuals.

The other Heads of Departments also told the MCE in the areas of their specialties.

They thanked the MCE and assures her that they will work effectively and efficiently to ensure that Ghana Cocoa remains quality and premium.



At the Effiduase Police Division, the MCE met Commander Yaro and his team, where the Commander assured the MCE that his office is on top of their job and all effort is being done to curb crime rate in the New Juaben North Municipality.

He appealed that the Assembly comes to his aid to enable him complete his cell which has been shut down due to lack of space. The need for laptops for the CID department and the ongoing project of the Police station.



In her response to the needs of the police, the MCE assured that the computers will be provided as soon as possible and many other aids in her own small way to make their work easier.

At the Prisons, MCE was taken round to see the inmates’ rooms, places of worship, workshops, ICT centre and kitchen.



She thanked the Assistant Director of Prisons, Benedict Bob-Dery and his team for a great work done and urged them to continue with their best. She gave a token for the inmates and pledge to continue coming to see them.

The Officer in charge spoke on the issue of inadequate space, quantity and quality of food and the need to help extend their wall for security and ventilation.
