North East Regional Minister seeks the blessings of his traditional leaders
The North East Regional Minister Yidana Zakaria has paid courtesy calls on the paramount chiefs of the various traditional areas and some other revered chiefs in the West Mamprusi Municipality upon assumption of office as the new regional minister.

The visit is to solicit for their prayers and support and to prompt first-hand information on the major developmental challenges confronting the people in their respective jurisdictions.

The Minister's first port of call was at the palace of the paramount chief of the Wungu Traditional Area, he extended his visitation to Mba Duu Raana's palace at Walewale.

Next was to the palace of Mba Soo Naa (chief of Janga) and then followed by a visit to the Mozuu Raana (Nasia's Chief), and climaxed the day at the palace of Kpaa Naa (Chief of Kparigu).

He took the opportunity to brief them on the state of ongoing projects that are scattered across their catchment areas.

“In few cases where works on some projects have stalled for some reasons, he assured their majesties of my preparedness to help clear those bottlenecks with a sense of urgency and alacrity, to ensure their timeous completion. This is to facilitate effective prioritization and utilization of our limited resources, in addressing the most pressing needs of our people” he stated.

Mr. Zakaria concluded by making a passionate appeal to the chiefs to help protect the environment by stopping the excessive deforestation that is being executed by their subjects.
