Head of Service visits three assemblies in Brong Ahafo

Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, the Head of Local Government Service paid a working visit to some selected assemblies in the Brong Ahafo Region namely; Wenchi Municipal, Techiman Municipal and Techiman North District.

Addressing the gathering at the various assemblies, Dr. Ato Arthur outlined his vision in five areas namely; building capacities of staff, sharing of best practices among Assemblies, improving revenue mobilization, sanitation management; and professionalism.

He furthermore advocated that, the staff should show commitment and dictation towards work and be time conscious.

Additionally, Dr. Ato Arthur advised the staff to refrain from sharing of official information to the general public and desist from also using working hours to social media whiles work is in progress.

On the part of the staff of the Assemblies, there was an interactive segment where issues of delays in promotions and payment of salaries; requirements for the Acting Coordinating Director role; decentralisation of the Ghana Health and Education Services; and migration from one Service to another.

The Chief Executives and their Coordinating Directors in their address informed the Head of Service and his team of proactive measures put in place for improved revenue mobilization and judicious use of resources.

They identified inadequate staff, office accommodation and logistics as some of the challenges hampering service delivery by Assemblies at the local levels.

The Head of Service was accompanied by the Chief Director Mr. Joseph Dasanah and other members of his Management team.
