JAMAN N: DCE cuts sod for small town water project in two communities
The District Chief Executive for Jaman North District, Adane Ankomah on September 14, 2018 cut sod in two communities in the district for work to start on small town water projects in these communities.

The beneficiary communities are, Jenkufa and Asiri.

The two projects is expected to be completed within eight (8) months and it's being financed by the World Bank.

Before then, these two beneficiary communities all using one borehole which breaks down frequently due to pressure on pump.



These two projects are awarded to two different constructors. The Jenkufa project is awarded to an Accra based company called, "Lestako Ventures Limited", with Mr Daniel K. Abokyi being the Managing Director while that of Asiri is also awarded to, " Casks Unity Services Engineering" with Mr. Gyimah as the Managing Director.



Among the entourage that joined the DCE were, Engineer Ahmed Ewurah-Regional Director of Community Water and Sanitation Agency, Mr. James Dogoli- Regional Hydrogeologist, Mr. Charles Afram Senior-Lecturer Sunyani Technical University, Engineer Mawuli, Supretendant Virtus Napen-police commander, Alhaji Siedu Adams-NPP constituency Chairman, Hon. Barrus-NPP constituency 1st Vice Chairman as well as Hon. Anane Ebenezer- NPP constituency Secretary and others.



Alhaji Ahmed Ewurah made it known to the two communities that, the government has slashed off the 5% which was supposed to be paid by community and so the only thing the communities is expected to do is to mobilize funds for the maintenance of the project for long lasting. He side, the project comes with a polytank that can produce 91,000 barons a day and can serve over 32,000 people daily.



He therefore continued that, the motive behind the project is to provide potable drinking water to every house and it has come to ease the pressure on our public stand pipes.

Nananom of these communities embraced the project and congratulated the DCE for such a tremendous efforts since they have suffered for so many years for separation of boreholes in these two communities. They therefore promised to collaborate and support the two constructors for smooth and peaceful environment to work.
