The donation was funded by the Christian Children Fund of Canada CCFC and will go a long way to provide residents of Jantong traditional area who have gone for long periods without an ambulance with means of transporting the sick.

Residents in the locality find it difficult to send emergency cases to the health center or referral cases from the CHPS compound to the district capital.

Many lives have been lost especially those of pregnant women due to the absence of an ambulance to send them to the health facility on time. The 10,600 Ghana Cedis ambulance was received by the East Gonja municipal Health Director.

In her appreciation remarks, the Health Director thanked the Presbyterian Church for its support over the years, saying that even though that is not the only challenge facing the Jantong CHIPS compound; it will nonetheless help solve emergency cases.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, after the presentation, the partner program manager of the Presbyterian agricultural services and child development program, Mr. Abanga Edward noted that the donation of the ambulance solved one of the numerous challenges confronting the people of the area.

It should be noted that for well over seventeen years, the Presby church has worked in the Jantong traditional in the areas of education, health and nutrition, water sanitation and hygiene, sustainable economic development and child sponsorship.
