The decision was arrived at a stakeholders meeting held on Thursday towards the effective utilization of the fund and to what purpose the money should be used for.
Addressing the media after the meeting, the District Chief Executive for the Birim South District, Richmond Kofi Amponsah said it is gratifying that all the people including chiefs have agreed to the development of Achiase, the Constituency capital since it is the largest and commercial town in the constituency.
He said the focus is to improve social and economic infrastructure in the town to help boost economic activities that will help propel the development of the other communities.
According to him, more than 50 percent of the 30 percent of the 1 million dollars allocated for use on priority constituency needs would be used to execute projects in Achiase.
He disclosed construction of lorry station, markets with stores and stalls among other important infrastructure as some of the projects being considered.
He said they are very ready for the arrival of the fund and the stakeholders meeting attests to their readiness, adding that a report would be forwarded to the Regional Coordinating Council in Koforidua for onward submission to Accra.
The Member of Parliament for Achiase, Robert Kwasi Amoah said developing the infrastructure of Achiase to boost economic and social activities is in the right direction because it will boost the internally generated fund (IGF) of the assembly to carry out more development project.
He said one area of concern is health delivery and they are considering getting into partnership with interested investors under a public-private partnership to at least upgrate the the health centre into a polyclinic status to improve health delivery.
