Minister inaugurates census management team for BA
Mr. Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, the Brong Ahafo Region Minister have inaugurated a four-member Regional Management Team for the Ghana Census of Agriculture to supervise the Districts and co-ordinate the implementation of the census activities in the Region.

In his address, the Minister said the purpose of the Census of Agriculture was to produce and disseminate complete and reliable agricultural data to meet the needs of Policy makers and other users to support informed decision making and for monitoring development programmes aimed at further developing agriculture and the rural areas.

He noted that the Agaric Census programme would be implemented in four (4) phases in line with the “modular Approach” recommended by Food and Agricultural organization (FAO) for the 2020 Round of world Censuses of Agriculture.

The four-member management team is chaired by the Chief Director of the Brong Ahafo Regional Co-ordinating Council, Mr. Oppong Kwame. The other members include Dr. Cyril Quist Brong Ahafo Regional Director of MOFA, Mr. Imoro Ayibani Tebra, Brong Ahafo Regional Director of Information Services Department and Mr. Amatus S. Nobabumah, Brong Ahafo Regional Statistician.

The Regional Minister charged the four officers whom he said have garnered wealth of experience over the years, to perform the tasks that have been assigned to them creditably. “It is a pleasure for me, to be given the opportunity, to inaugurate the Regional Management Team of Ghana Census of Agriculture for the Brong Ahafo Region and to kick-start the publicity campaign in order to create awareness and educate the public on the activities of the Census”, he said.

He therefore, duly inaugurated the Team to implement the census successfully in the Region and to produce credible information that will better serve the needs of the Region and the country as a whole.

Mr. Oppong Kwame, the Chief Director who is the chair of the four-member Management Team assured the Minister that the Team would deliver to their mandate for the needed results to be achieved.
