Suhum MCE cuts sod for Nankese-Abisim M/A Primary and Kindergarten blocks
The Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs. Margaret Darko Darkwah has led a team from the Suhum Municipal Assembly to cut a sod for the construction of a six-unit classroom block at Nankese-Abisim in the Suhum Municipality.

The MCE, assisted by Dr. Ofori Atta of the ‘School and Health Foundation’, UK, The Municipal Engineer, Mr. Godfred Aidam, the Assemblyman of Nankese- Abisim, Mr. Ernest Nyargotei, the School Health Coordinator, Mrs. Faustina Koranteng, and the chiefs and people of Suhum Abisim performed a short ceremony to begin the new project.

The new project, which is sponsored by Dr. Ofori Atta and his team from the School and Health Foundation from the United Kingdom, will serve as the classroom blocks for the primary and kindergarten schools at Nankese-Abisim.



In her speech, Mrs. Margaret Darko Darkwah said that even though the Nankese-Abisim M/A Primary and Kindergarten was initially part of the Municipality’s medium term plan, they were glad when they received an offer from Dr. Ofori Atta and his team to construct the school building, since resources for the project could be redirected to other areas in the municipality. She added that the Assembly is ever ready to support the project in any way possible.

Dr. Ofori Atta, in his remarks, said that the Nankese-Abisim project, which is to be completed within a year, is one of the numerous projects his School and Health Foundation from the UK. is undertaking in various areas in the country.



He charged the chiefs and people of Nankese-Abisim to contribute in various ways to make the project a success.

The chief of Nankese-Abisim, Nene Zorku, thanked the Dr. Ofri Atta and the MCE for initiating this project and assured that parents will do well to contribute their quota to making the project a success.

The headmaster of the school, Mr. Samuel Asante Agyei also expressed his gratitude towards Dr. Ofori Atta and his team for this initiative. He said he is very happy to see the reconstruction the Nankese-Abisim school, which has been in bad state since its establishment in 1935.
