Ashanti Regional Minister Inspects Fomena Hospital
The Fomena hospital which has been under construction for the past 9 years is set to be inspected and certified for operation by the Ministry of Health by 25th of April, 2023.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah made this revelation during an inspection at the 120 bed capacity facility.
The minister expressed his satisfaction at works done so far and noted with appreciation to the NMS Infrastructure limited, who are the contractors for the local content they have adopted in terms of labour and was certain the local workers are learning some skills which otherwise they could not have acquired by themselves.


The minister added that, there would be training for personnel and staff on the use of the machines installed at the facility to enable them work effectively with the machines.

The minister charged those who would have the responsibility of cleaning and maintaining the place to do a good job to ensure the facility is clean and in good condition at all times.
The Adansihemaa, Nana Amoanima Dede II thanked the government of Ghana for the facility and said she is pleased by the level of work done.


The facility which is expected to serve people from all over the country houses two Operating Theatres, Parent Hostel, Accident and Emergency Unit, Accommodation for core staff among others.
The District Chief Executive, Adansi North District, Kusi Kwaku Eric was part of the entourage as well as heads of departments in the District.


The team was taken around the facility by the NMS Senior Site Manager, David Moore and the Site manager Peter Newman.
