It has become an annual ritual during the major rainy season for some communities to loss their belongings to flood because not much is done to allow free flow of water through the drainage systems in the community.

The residents poured out their frustration when the Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Alidu Seidu visited some affected areas after Sunday’s heavy downpour that destroyed several properties.

They called for the desilting of the drainage to allow free flow of water.

The MCE visited areas around the Aboabo drainage and Togo bar at Asawasi.

Alhaji Seidu sympathized with the people for their losses and noted with concern how the problem of flooding has been with them for all these years and no solution was found to it.

He assured the people that a lasting solution would be found to the flooding menace, adding that he has assigned the NADMO Coordinator to assess the problem and present a report with solutions that will be implemented to address it.
