According to Henry G. R. Kerali, it has been challenging for the various MMDAs to get their own resources to address sanitation menace in their Assemblies.

He further added that development partners and NGOs have to assist with resources in helping to tackle sanitation issues and as a result of that, he wants to see the Assemblies improve their efficiency in the little resources that they have.

As to whether the World Bank has intention of funding similar sanitation projects as doing in collaboration with the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Sanitation and Water Project, the World Bank Country Director confirm in an interview that they are looking at rural areas’ water and sanitation.

And further added that the World Bank has been able through the collaboration with GAMA supply cost effective toilet facility to low income householders in Greater Accra and there is regular removal of waste.
