Nanumba S: DCE visits schools

The District Chief Executive of the Nanumba South District, N.I. Munkaila paid a working visit to two schools at Bandajua and Nabayili respectively.

At Bandajua, his first point of visit was to assess the extent of damage caused to a one unit three classrooms block following the recent rain storm which hit the area.

He was there alongside the District Works Engineer to cost the damage.

He proceeded to Nabayili, where he inspected a three unit classroom block under construction and which was near completion for the Nabayili R/C JHS.

As professional teacher himself, he could not have completed his visit without interacting with the staff of the two schools to know how they were faring academically.

Woefully inadequate furniture, absenteeism on the part of both teachers and pupils were reported at both schools with the Bandajua Primary School being the most affected.

In his goodbye message, he appealed to the teachers to always be guided by the future of their pupils in the discharge of their duties.

This way he said, they would be morally self inspired to give out the best they have to help the children.

He advised the pupils to be very regular at school and be disciplined in order that they can also become responsible people in the future.
