Ablekuma West MCE takes Sanitation Minister round some illegal dump sites
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ablekuma West, George Bray has taken the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources round some illegal dumping sites in his Municipality that had been stopped from operating.

Sector Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah embarked on the tour to familiarize herself with the sanitation situation in the Greater Accra Region.

Mr. George Bray took the Minister to Glefe in the Ablekuma West Municipality.

Briefing the Minister, the MCE said there two illegal dumping sites of which one had been cleared whiles the other had not been cleared yet.

He noted that the difficulties in clearing the Glefe illegal dump site was due to illegal structures that had sprung up and making access very difficult to the site.



“This is unauthorized dumping site that was created five years ago with tricycles coming to dump here, I have engaged the chiefs and the people staying around this place and they have accepted that illegal structures be broken down for us to evacuate this refuse”, he said.

Sanitation and Water Resources Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah was unhappy with some residents who came out to witness the visitation, but were not forth coming with information when the Minister wanted to know if households had toilet facilities apart from one or two public toilet that were not kept well.

She complain of bad stench coming from a public toilet at Glefe, but the operators of the Public toilet were taking forty pesewa from each individual who patronized the facility.
