Work on Tamale Interchange to begin in March
Plans are far advanced for construction works to commence on the new Tamale Interchange Project in the Northern Region.

An official sod cutting ceremony has been slated for March 2019 and comes at a time Ghana will be marking its 63rd Independence Anniversary celebration at the Jubilee Park, Tamale.

Revealing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mayor of Tamale, Mr Iddirisu Musah, stated that preliminary discussions have been held with some officials from the Ministry of Roads and Ghana Highways Authority concerning the sod-cutting ceremony and subsequent commencement of work on the multi-million dollar project.


According to him, the project is expected to ease vehicular movement and reduce traffic situation which is fast becoming a worry to motorists and pedestrians in the metropolis.

It will be situated at the Point 7 intersection in the city center of Tamale.

Cost of the project remains undisclosed but information gathered indicates that the project forms part of the 15 million dollars grant received from the Chinese government which also includes 90 other bridges to be constructed.
