Effutu Assembly confirms President’s nominee
The Effutu Municipal Assembly members have endorsed Mr John Bartholomew Ninsin as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area.

Mr Ninsin, a Chartered Accountant, polled 24 votes in the assembly made up 26 members. Two votes were rejected.

 

The confirmation of the MCE was supervised by Ms Emilia Akotia, Effutu Municipal Director of Electoral Commission (EC).

 

Mr Ninsin was sworn-in by Mr Isaac Oheneba Kufuour, Effutu Municipal Magistrate Court Judge.

 

Mr Sylvester Silver, Presiding member (PM) of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, asked the members of the assembly to bury their political differences and stay united for development to occur.

 

Mr Kwamena Duncan, Central Regional Minister, commended members of the assembly for accepting the President’s nominee for the Municipality.

 

He urged the new MCE to practice a transparent and open door administration to enable him succeed, saying that it would be better to work together as team with all the members of the Assembly.

 

The Regional Minister called on the newly sworn-in MCE to be a good listener to all members of the assembly and heads of decentralized department despite their political affiliation to avert clashes.

 

He praised the chiefs and people in the Effutu Traditional Area for maintaining peace and stability during the celebration of annual Aboakyer festival.

 

Mr Alex Afenyo Markin, MP for Effutu, praised the members of the assembly for confirming the MCE, adding that their attitude shows that the Effutu Municipality was yearning for change.

 

Mr Ninsin, MCE on his part, thanked the President Nana Akufo-Addo and members of the assembly for the trust and confidence also reposed in him.
