AFRAM PLAINS N: Assembly to complete ongoing projects

The Afram Plains District Assembly has taken bold steps to complete ongoing school projects to help improve teaching and learning in the area.

Speaking at the Assembly’s First Ordinary Meeting at Donkorkrom, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr Samuel Kena stated that the assembly has officially been advised to complete all ongoing projects before new ones are awarded on contract.

“With the directive from government to ensure that no new projects are undertaken without the completion of existing ones, we have taken very bold steps in effecting payment to contractors to go back to complete the old uncompleted projects scattered across the district” the DCE noted.

He however, noted that there is an urgent need to provide a classroom block for the community of Kayera. He said the assembly is putting up efforts to construct a Kindergarten block (KG) with ancillary facilities for the community.

The told Assembly-members procurement process for the project is almost completed and adding that the project will soon be awarded on contract.
