Private company fails to account for GH¢ 197,955.57 to STMA
A private company, Gold Street Real Estate Consults tasked by the Sekondi Tarkoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) to collect revenue for the Assembly could not account for GH¢197,955.57 as revenue collected in 2016.

This was made known at the ongoing public hearing of the Public Account Committee (PAC) being held at the Western Region when the Auditor General’s report 2016 came under review.
Out of the total revenue of GH¢613,290.00 collected by the by Gold Street Real Estate Consult, only GH¢526,879.00 was accounted for leaving an outstanding amount of GH¢86,411.00.
Meanwhile, Jomoro and Shama Assemblies have GH¢111,544.57 of their revenue not accounted for by revenue collectors.
The Auditor General has thus urged management of the various Assemblies to recover all the monies involved from the revenue collectors.
“We also recommended that, management of Gold Street Real Estate Consult report the offenders to the police to assist in retrieving the unaccounted value books and any amount due with sanctions. And also recommend that finance officers of the Assemblies to be sanctioned for ineffective control over the use and accounting for value books” the AG recommended.
Mr. Albert Amoah the finance officer of STMA in responding to queries revealed that Gold Street Real Estate Consult have made the first part payment of GH¢ 30,000 and the pay-in-slip is available for verification.
