1M DOLLAR PER CONSTITUENCY: Adentan gets Astro Turf

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation through the One Constituency, One- million dollars’ project initiative cut the sod for the construction of an Astro Turf at Mammamo in the Adentan Municipality.

The move is to augment government’s effort to nurture talents in sports and games in the municipality.

The facility when completed will have a standard pitch, an 11-aside full pitch of 98 by 58 square meters and floodlights. It will also serve a multi-purpose for the community as a ground for rallies, convention and social events.

The Member of Parliament for Adentan, Mr Yaw Boaben Asamoah in an interview with journalists of Information Service Department said “I think that selecting Astro Turf as a project for this constituency is suitable. It is going to unearth the hidden talents in the youth in this constituency.

We will help them develop their talents and then represent our country both internally and externally at the higher level so that we work to bring success to this country”.

The contractor for the project pledged to complete the project in four months. He was implored by the young organizers, spectators and well-wishers to contract the artisan and the youth within the community of the project to play major and minor roles during the construction and not the use of outsiders, since that can be their contributing factor to the project as stakeholders.

He also confirmed early February as the start of work of the project.

The Representative of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Mr Amankwa presenting the architectural drawing to the traditional council added that this edifice is the second to be sponsored by his outfit in Adentan.

So far, six Astro Turf’s with spectator stands and dressing rooms have been constructed across the country under the One- Constituency, One- million dollars Project.
