AKYEMANSA: DCE cuts sod for Adwobue water, toilet facilities
The District Chief Executive of Akyemansa Assembly, Paul Asamoah has called on the chiefs and people of Adwobue, to eschew every negative tendencies that impede progress and development of their community.

The DCE gave the advice during a sod cutting ceremony for a six-seater toilet and water facility which is being partly financed by Community Livelihood Support Organization (COLISO), the Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area.

The Community Livelihood Support Organization (COLISO), is providing the chunk of the cost of the project with Two Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC200,000.00) representing 80 percent while the 20 percent counterpart funding from the community is being borne by the Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at 10 percent each totaling Fifty Thousand Ghana cedis (GHC50,000.00) bringing the total cost for the project at Two Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC250.000.00).



Meanwhile, the community is also assisting with communal labour to help facilitate the completion of the project.

The sod cutting therefore signify commencement of the project.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Paul Asamoah said the 20% of the total cost of the project as counterpart funding which has been paid by the community will help develop the community rapidly if the people unite and move with cohesion.



Mr. Asamoah expressed the hope that the strategic location of the facilities will help reduce open defecation and also the demand of conveying water form long distances will be a thing of the past.
