“We wholeheartedly support the president’s policy for bringing NABCO, which intends to ease unemployment situation, and to shape the livelihood of the citizens.

The focus of this initiative will sought to solve problems in public service delivery in the area of health, education, agriculture, technology, governance, dissemination of government policies as well as drive revenue mobilization and collection.

The programme is expected to engage about one thousand graduates to help government achieve its objectives in the areas of improving public service delivery, improving government revenue mobilization as well as improve skills and employability for transition from programme to programme.

REACTING TO THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION'S MEET THE PRESS

This irate unemployed youth reacted to the recent ‘Meet the Press’ section organized by the Ministry of Information, headed by the Minister Designate Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in his explanation said Ninety Thousand (90,000) out of the One Hundred Thousand (100,000) applicants who have been interviewed had accepted their postings with the remaining Ten Thousand (10,000) expected to accept their employment within next week.

Their deployment to their various duty posts, he said, would be commissioned by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo later this month.

The NABCO employees, Mr. Nkrumah said, would augment the works of the various professionals across Two Hundred and Fifty-four (254) assemblies of the country to render top-notch public service to the citizenry.

In an interview, one of the students at the Koforidua Technical University, Bismark Kumi explained that if the government has been able to create seven modules under the NABCO policy, then the onus rest on the shoulders of the government to consider engineering students.

To them “we learnt different programmes or courses in our various universities and we the engineering students cannot work under feed Ghana module but anything engineering in order to build a strong economy”.

According to him though the policy will go a long way to ease financial burden on parents it needs stronger collaborative effort of all stakeholders to build the country.

For his part Daniel Amartey emphasized that “There are about thousand and one graduate unemployed engineering students in the country of which the country needs to engage them to help in the construction works of the country to do away with shoddy works, potholes patching, as well and good engineering designs.

According to Diana Diapim, just as the President and government was able to create modules like civic, health Ghana, revenue, enterprise, educate, digitize and feed, there are many possibilities to reconsider its decision by creating additional module “Build Ghana” for engineering students to enable them contribute their quota to the development of the country.

She explained that if the module is created under NABCO and the officers are assigned and attached to the various construction, industrial sites and the works department of various MMDAs, it will help them acquaint themselves and get required skills to enhance the country industrialization.

“Please help us Mr. President” she appealed.
