Banda District Management team inaugurated.
District Management Team to oversee the activities of the Ghana Census of Agriculture in the Banda District in the Brong Ahafo region has been inaugurated by the District Chief Executive, Madam Mary Konneh.

The four member Team comprises of the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Gordon Domayele as the chairman, Mr. Sebatstian Duut, District Planning Officer as the secretary, Mr. William Biah, District Director of Agriculture and Mr. Isaac Yeboah, District Information Officer as members.

In delivering the inaugural address, Madam Mary Konneh said the overall objective of the Census of Agriculture is to produce and disseminate complete and reliable Agricultural data to meet the needs of policy makers and other users to support informed decision making and for monitoring development programmes aimed at further developing agriculture and the rural areas.

She added that the Census of Agriculture will specifically provide information on the rural sector and the structure of agriculture including number of holders and sizes of holdings and their distribution across the country, level of equipment and technology use, human resource availability, land tenure systems of agriculture holdings and data on food security and sustainable agriculture.

The DCE enumerated a number of responsibilities of the Management Team which includes; coordination and implementation of the Ghana Census of Agriculture in the District, ensuring the provision of facilities for activities of the Ghana Census of Agriculture operations in the District, ensure effective education and publicity of the Ghana of Agriculture in the District, resolve all problems relating to the Census of Agriculture operations in the District and many more.

The DCE said she has confidence in the Team due to the experience the members have garnered over the years in their respective field. She therefore charged the Team to deliver on the task that have been assigned to them creditably and contact her office whenever the need arise to enable them carry out their mandate effectively.

Speaking on behalf of the Team, Mr. Gordon Domayele, the chairman of the Team thanked the Chief Executive for the confidence bestowed on Team and assured her of the Team delivering on its mandate to help improve agriculture in the District and that they would always rely on her for the necessary advice and support.
