BIBIANI: MP sponsors free eye treatment for constituents

A number of constituents who were found to have some health problems particularly eye problems have been offered the opportunity to undergo treatment.

The treatment session followed a successful health screening organized by the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western Region, Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu for the constituents.

The patients were all taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to be operated upon freely at the expense of the MP.

The initiative which is warmly appreciated by the beneficiaries will go a long way to improve the well-being of residents in the area.

Prior to identifying individuals with eye problems, residents were drawn from communities including Chirano, Sefwi Bekwai and Sefwi Anhwiaso and through a screening exercise that lasted for four days.

Over four thousand participants were screened of various ailments including; Diabetes, Malaria, Blood Pressure and eye tests; with some given free drugs at the centers while others with severe conditions were also referred to other health facilities within the Municipality.
