Bosomtwe Assembly disbursed funds to PWDs
The Bosomtwe District Assembly in the Ashanti Region has disbursed funds to 97 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the district to empower them undertake economic ventures to sustain their lives.

At the ceremony held at the forecourt of the Bosomtwe Assembly, 64 persons received items to enable them venture into profitable businesses, while 29 received support towards their education, with 4 persons benefiting from health care support.



In his address, the District Chief Executive, Joseph Assuming entreated the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds and items in ways that that will be profitable so as to uplift their standard of living.



He indicated that, to ensure effective monitoring, beneficiaries will be contacted to find out how they were utilizing the items, and stated emphatically that the purpose of the items and funds is to empower PWDs economically and also to get them out of the streets where most of them engage in begging for alms.



Beneficiaries received items such as deep freezers, sewing machines, farming inputs, provisions among others.



The chairman for the PWDs Committee, Maxwell Boakye indicated that the items were provided as a result of their individual requests.



Mr. Boakye on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to the assembly for considering them for the funds and promised to make good use of the items and funds profitably.
