The latest community to have their new block provided for them is Gwira Banso where a six unit classroom block with ancillary facilities like headteachers’ office, staff room, ICT/library and sanitary facilities.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Nzema East Municipality, Hon. James Atta Kakra Baidoe and the Member of Parliament for the Evalue Ajomor Gwira Constituency jointly commissioned the new project.

Until the construction and commissioning of this project funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), the school was operating in a pavilion with its associated challenges.

This new modern structure is therefore expected to provide conducive environment for teaching and learning to enhance academic performance in the school.

The MCE also hinted that with the growing population in the school, there are plans to work on the existing pavilion into a better structure to allow for additional stream to be created to decongest existing classrooms and admit more students.

He touted the President Mahama lead NDC government’ resolve to improving the education sector as evident in the massive infrastructure improvement in the sector across the country as well as other relevant and social interventions in the sector to give the poor equal opportunity for acquiring knowledge.

As part of the social intervention programmes, 200 school uniforms were presented to pupils of the school while the community itself received 15 complete street bulbs to light its streets to improve visibility at night.

Nana Gyan Koamang II, Chief of Gwira Banso and Assemblywoman, Hon. Augustina Tabua Kwofie were also present to witness the occasion.
