SEKYERE C: 25,000 acres of land to 5 industrialized farmers
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sekyere Central District Assembly Kwadwo Banahene Bediako indicated that 25,000 acres of land has been given out to 5 industrialized farmers for the realization of the “one district, one factory” (1D1F) government policy.

He said that the district is expecting four factories, adding that the founders include legume farms, North American Farms, Safe life Farms, Wuntumi Farms and others.

He explained that these farms would grow mainly maize and cassava among other crops, and poultry hatchery factory which the assembly is working towards.

He said works on facilities to aid the establishment and operations of the factory including road, and electrification are ongoing at the area to enable easy accessibility to the factory site.

He also encouraged farmers in the area to utilize the services of extension officers who are being paid by the government to assist them.

He said documentation is almost done and hope commencement will take effect before the end of this year.

The DCE said “funds and knowledge develops society, and the support you get depends on how you package yourself”.

He therefore called on more investors to help create development and employment opportunity for the youth in the district.

He urged the people especially the youth to change their view about Agriculture and start seeing it as a full-time business that could earn them good money.
