The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Dennis Armah Frimpong indicated that the “1D1F” should not be limited to just one factory but the need to accept more proposals from investors, adding that the district is about to commence cassava processing factory to mainly produce starch

He said that the main cash crop in the district is cocoa and oil palm plantation, adding that the land is very fertile for food crops such as cassava and cashew and many more.

The DCE added that the government’s policy “planting for jobs and investment” initiative is being implemented for youth in the district, to be trained by the agric officers in order to create employment for them.

He advised the youth to embrace the agric sector and not to rely solely on the white color jobs, adding that he is liaising with some agric officers to train the youth in poultry, piggry, grasscutter and snail farming and would also help them financially to start their own business after training.
