Assembly to renovate community centre

The District Chief Executive of Sissala East District, Mr Karim Nanyua on Tuesday announced that rehabilitation work would soon begin on the Tumu Community Centre.

He said the design for the project has already been completed, and the contract for the job would soon be awarded.

The District Chief Executive made the statement when he was speaking to Ghanadistricts.com

Mr Karim said, though the community centre belongs to the Tumu Traditional Council, the District Assembly is the custodian of the facility and cannot handover the centre in its present state to the Traditional Council.

He said they have so far done the major parts of the work and that the rest will take about three weeks to complete.

The DCE assured that the youth, chiefs and people in the Tumu traditional area, the District Assembly are prepared to work with the people to ensure development in the Districts.

The DCE was commended for the various infrastructural projects that he has initiated since assuming office to bring about improvement in the lives of the people.
