The project, when completed will serve as modern and first class technology hub to aid the establishment of other businesses and also create jobs for the youth.

This first of its kind project in the district will see the construction of a factory, shops for ready market among other business opportunities for the people of Kumawu and the country at large.

This was revealed when a Deputy Minister for Trade and Industries, Mr Robert Ahomka-Lindsey, inspected a 20-acre site for the project yesterday.

The Minister, who spoke in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, further revealed that, the project, had already gone through various procurement processes with funds being sourced through the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB). He added that, the project will take a maximum of nine months to complete.

“We will all come back to this site in the next nine months to possibly commission the facility because funds for the project is ready and government has gone all the necessary processes to get the project stated”, Mr Ahomka-Lindsey stated.

The Minister also assured of the government’s readiness to industrialize the country in order to drastically increase its foreign revenue generation.

We the NPP under the Akufo-Addo government have learnt our lessons from mistakes the country committed since independence and are now ready to move from a raw material producing country to value added production country” he added.

He encouraged the people to remain calm since the government was bent on delivering on its numerous promises such as the Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJs), Planting for Export, One District One Factory (1D1F) among others.

On his part, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr Samuel Addai Agyekum, said he was grateful for the project. He was hopeful that the facility would go a long way to help reduce the rate of employment situation in the area.
