KWAEBIBIREM: Assembly urged to set sight on developmental programmes
A Deputy Minister of Information and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase Ayirebi, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has tasked the Kweabibirem Municipal Assembly to set sight on various developmental programmes and initiatives that will help improve standards of living.

The Minister was addressing the Chiefs and people of Kade at the Inaugural ceremony of the Kweabibirem Assembly from district to a Municipality status.

Mr Nkrumah, in his keynote address lauded the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area for developing various framework and mechanisms to improve the Assembly’s Internally Generated funds (IGF) to serve as its primary source of funding to finance it numerous projects.


“I was excited to note from the MCE’s report the fact that the Assembly intends to make the District Assemblies Common Fund(DACF) and District Development Fund (DDF)secondary to their own internally generated Funds (IGF)” he said.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah also expressed his gratitude to President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo -Addo for creating new districts and elevating some existing districts into a municipality status.
