KRACHI W: Island communities to get CHPS compounds
The Krachi West District Assembly is to improve access to health delivery in island communities in the district with the construction of community-based health planning (CHPS) compounds.

The District Chief Executive, Douglas Osei Nti who announced this said this would be achieved through the collaborative efforts of the district Assembly and Systems of Health.

These facilities would be cited at "Aglokope and Adonten Cement to take care of our citizens in the island", he stated.
He noted that the Assembly has embarked on construction of the following health facilities in the district to help improve health delivery in the district. And these are;

1 Construction of rural clinic (CHPS Compound) at Kwakuae
2 Construction of Nurses’ quarters at Kwaeku CHPS Compound
3 Construction of CHPS Compound at Bommoden
4 Construction of CHPS Centre at Twereso (World Vision)
5 Construction of Growth Monitoring Shed at Nkyenenkyene (World Vision)
6 Construction of Growth Monitoring Shed at Chantai (World Vision)
7 Construction of 2-storey dormitory block for Midwifery Training School at Gyengyen

The DCE also assured that the District Assembly shall still continue to support the Krachi Midwifery School by completing the next phase of the story building project at Gyengyen to improve the infrastructure needs of the school.
