Kwahu East assembly set to distribute 2,500 desks

The Kwahu East district Assembly is set to distribute 2,500 mono and dual desks to some selected schools in the area.

This was disclosed by District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, at the maiden head teachers’ performance contract meeting, organized by the District Education Directorate at Pepease, the district capital.

In his address, Mr Isaac Agyapong, admitted to the challenges that pupils of Basic Schools in the district are currently faced with, adding that the situation was currently having a negative on education in the area.

The DCE however, revealed that the assembly was partnering with the District Education Directorate and will soon distribute desks to these schools as part of efforts to help promote education in the area.

He assured that this will be done by end of February this year.

Touching on BECE results, the DCE noted that the recent performance of candidates in the district was encouraging, adding that “we are still looking up to better performance in 2019 and beyond.”
