Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, Deputy Northern Regional Minister has cut the sod for construction works on the Namong Senior High School in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District, which is part of governments first batch of the fifty model schools under the new 200 community SHS across the country.

The school would be equipped with modern scientific laboratory, library and spacious classrooms and would be the first SHS in the area expected to be completed and handed over in the next 18 months.

Alhaji Fuseini said education was one of the topmost priorities of government, hence the need to provide and improve the educational infrastructure in the country.

The future of every country depends on its manpower and so it is the intension of government to progressively build more facilities, get more teachers and finally make education free for all as the nations constitution stipulates, he said.

Alhaji Fuseini appealed to traditional and opinion leaders to closely monitor the progress of the project and guard against stealing of building materials such as cement to avoid the delay in completion of the project.

He said plans were far advanced to build health centres and primary schools if only the chief and people maintained peace in the area.

Kpanlorinaa Dahamani Biiyoukpow, Chief of Kpanlori, thanked government for providing the area a senior high school, which would encourage students, especially girls to learn hard.

He appealed to government to improve the road network to open up the area for development as well as investors.
