THLD: Two schools to get new classroom blocks

The Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira (THLD) District Assembly has as part of efforts to improve its educational infrastructure, awarded contract for the construction of a two separate 3-unit classroom blocks for Jukwaa and Pepekrom communities.

The Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira (THLD) District Assembly has as part of efforts to improve its educational infrastructure, awarded contract for the construction of a two separate 3-unit classroom blocks for Jukwaa and Pepekrom communities.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Francis Kofi Korankyi-Sakyi, Chief Executive for the district, further disclosed that the assembly has already secure funding from its own share of the District Assembly’s Common Fund to finance the two projects.

According to him, the projects were aimed at relocating students of Jukwaa model and Pepekrom Primary schools from their dilapidated make-shift structures “which has for long affected quality teaching and learning”.

He continued that the project when duly completed will also ease pressure on the school’s classrooms which were currently accommodating more than expected. He expressed optimism that will commence and complete within its stipulated period to avoid delay.

Mr. Korankyi-Sakyi also expressed satisfaction with some moves from the assembly to improve teaching and learning, adding that about 1,000 dual desks have already been distributed to some selected schools in the area.

The DCE also called for support from government and other foreign donors to support the assembly in its bid to ensure infrastructural development in the area.
