Ms Emelia Ankomah, a 42-year-old Scheme Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority, was on Thursday unanimously endorsed as the Municipal Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira East.

Ms Emelia Ankomah, a 42-year-old Scheme Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority, was on Thursday unanimously endorsed as the Municipal Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira East.

 

All the 40 assembly members voted for her nomination.

 

The Assembly, which had been without a Presiding Member (PM) for three years, also gave an educationist, Mr Francis Boadi, the nod for the position.

 

Earlier the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Akwasi Oppong Fosu asked the members to consider the development of their areas as paramount and confirm the two to help push that agenda forward.

 

Mr Samuel Sarpong, Central Regional Minister, called for the cooperation and support of all stakeholders to help accelerate the development of the Municipality to ensure better lives for all.

 

Ms Ankomah for her part, expressed gratitude to President Mahama and the assembly members for the confidence reposed in her and pledged not to disappoint them but work assiduously to facilitate the growth of the area.
