The Nkwanta North Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have lent their support for the re-nomination of Mr Paul Levin Gyato as the District Chief Executive.

A statement signed by 15 constituency executives said the re-nomination of Mr Gyato was not a surprise as the nominee had served with utmost diligence and championed several development projects in the area.

It said his enormous influence and support saw the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wrestle political power from the New Patriotic Party in the last elections.

The statement commended President John Dramani Mahama for reposing his trust in Mr Gyato and consequently re-nominating him to lead government business in the district.

The statement condemned the activities of some few people who perpetrated vandalism and urged state security to bring the culprits to book.

It said the NDC continued to be pace setters for peace and intra-party actions that bordered on criminality should be punished and severely.

Meanwhile, eight suspects in the Thursday vandalism and burning of state vehicles at Kpassa, in the Nkwanta North District, have been remanded by a Hohoe Magistrate court to re-appear on Monday.

Their pleas were not taken.
