Disclosing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Lawyer Charity Oforiwaa Dwommoh noted that, the move was in line with measures put in place by the assembly to get a new police headquarters for the district.

She was optimistic that the move will among other things go a long way to equip police personnel to deliver their best in the fight against crime and also ensure law enforcement in the area.

“The District is thirteen years old and we need a district police headquarters. In view of this, we will soon be moving from the administration to the new building and convert this building into District Police Headquarters”

“I give myself three months to put the office in order and inform the authorities for the upgrading of the police station to district status”, the DCE stated.

Meanwhile, Lawyer Dwommoh has made a passionate appeal to the Police Administration especially, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), COP David Asante-Apeatu to post adequate police officers to the district to help beef-up the existing number.

According to her, a recent tour of communities in the district revealed deficit in the number of police personnel in the area. He therefore called for more police officers in the district to help improve the situation.
