Banda District Assembly supports communities with building materials

Banda District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo region has distributed various form of building materials to some communities in the district to support community based self-help projects in the district.

The initiative was to encourage the various communities in the district to undertake their own projects while the assembly provide them with the needed technical and material support.

The beneficiary communities are Banda Ahenkro, Nipanikro, Beima, Taino, Gbao, Saase, Kabrono, Dorbor, Sabiye, Kanka, Boase and Weiwa.

The District Chief Executive, Madam Mary Konneh who disclose this during the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly said it was about time people become interested in the development of their own communities by undertaking self- help projects to compliment the efforts of government and the Assembly since the Assembly alone cannot solve all the developmental needs of the district.

The DCE stated that the items were procured and distributed based on request from the various communities to construct latrines and other community projects.

She commended the communities for their voluntarism as it was right step towards the development of the district and encourage others to do same.
