Audit Committees Inaugurated

The Audit Committees of the eighteen Municipal and District Assemblies and the Regional Coordinating Council were inaugurated at an event held at the Sky Plus Hotel in the regional capital Ho.

The Audit Committees are statutory under the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

Speaking at the ceremony the Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa underscored the importance of Audit Units and Audit Committees at the various establishments under Local Government Service among other things.

Dr. Archibald Letsa entreated the Audit Committees to work toward ensuring a "zero infractions" on the parts of the Assemblies in order that the Assemblies would not appear in the Auditor-General Reports.

The members of the Committee were sworn-in by the Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, Dr. Eric Oduro Osae, who also took the members through an orientation on the roles and functions of the Audit Committee.
