The China International Water and Electric Corporation who are executing the project are expected to hook some 45 communities to the electricity grid after the completion of the project.

District Chief Executive of the Birim South South, Mr. Richmond Amposah in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com on the project said the completion of the project will have major positive impact on the socio-economic lives of the people.

He said with electricity, residents in the beneficiary communities would be able to do a lot of things including opening small businesses, light for students to study, recreational purposes, as well as improve security.

Some of the communities benefiting from the electrification project include Apoli Ningo, Akosombo, Apoli Beposo, Bebam among others.

The DCE is also hopeful that the contractor can stick to his 3months deadline to complete the project and connect the communities to the grid.
