This was disclosed by the district Chief Executive for the area, Richmond Amposah after a stakeholders meeting with some selected traditional authorities in the district.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr Amposah indicated that they are working tirelessly to put themselves in readiness towards the implementation of government policies including the “one district, one factory” programme, “planting for food and jobs”, “one million dollars per constituency” among others that are geared towards economic development which would eventually lead to improved living conditions of people.

The DCE noted that land is one of the major requirements towards the establishment of factories, and chiefs being custodians of the land would have major roles to play if they want the policies to get to fruition, hence the need to consult them.

He expressed delight at the positive response from the chiefs and the interest they have shown so far in being part of the development agenda of the Birim South District.

The Birim South District Assembly in collaboration with other stakeholders in the district have been meeting and discussing the development of the district with particular focus on taking advantage of policies and programmes of this current government to get their people out of poverty.

With the advantage of two constituencies in the district that will ostensibly bring 2 million dollars under the “one million dollars per constituency” initiative, the district hopes to see major improvement in the district when they begin to actualize the projects.
