KWAHU SOUTH: Citizens deliberate on improving educational standard
Citizens of Mpraeso, the capital of the Kwahu South district in the Eastern Region have expressed concerns about the falling standard of education in the area.

At a meeting with the District Chief Executive, Emmanuel Atta Ofori Snr, the concerned citizens have not only expressed their worry but also put forward some of the challenges they identifies as main factors for the decline in education in the area.

According to them, the low performance as usually experienced at the BECE level are attributable to a number of factors including lack of infrastructure in their schools, lack of text books and other teaching aids among others.

The District Chief Executive, Emmanuel Atta Ofori snr with the help of the citizens have promised to help uplift the performance of the children by ensuring discipline is upheld in the schools, while the necessary logistics  like text books and teaching aids provided.

The meeting which was held at the resident of the kontihene brought together heads of Department, Businessmen, Entrepreneurs, chiefs, Assembly members, religious bodies, representative from Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU), representative from the Market women to discuss the development of Mpraeso and Kwahu at large.

Other issues discussed at the meeting included sanitation, security, indiscipline, town layout among others.
