WENCHI: Assembly staff trained in administration to enhance productivity
A training workshop has been held for Staff of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly to sharpen their knowledge and skills to enable them to execute their official roles and duties smoothly and efficiently.

The staff includes Heads of Department, Divisions, Units/Sections, Secretaries, and other front-liners who play critical roles in the administrative set-up.

The workshop was to equip and build the capacity of staff in the contemporary field of work to surmount all seeming administrative challenges to effectively discharge their duties and deliver to exceed expectations.

It was also aimed at addressing some peculiar bottlenecks identified in day to day administration which affect staff performance and has the tendency to hinder productivity.



The programme which trained staff in Report Writing, Minute Writing and Records Management was organized by the Municipal Assembly and held by an Accra based consultancy firm Excel Link Consult Limited as the trainer/facilitator, with almost a decade of experience in Office Management, ICT, and Human Resource Development.

The staff was also taken through some Office practice and work ethics as well as human relations as united team players for peaceful co-existence to achieve higher productivity.



In an interview with the Information Services Department (ISD), the CEO of Excel Link Consult Hassan Diwura says he expects improved productivity which has always been the achievement of his Company after training programmes for hundreds of Institutions/Organisations, Departments and Agencies including Ministries.

Mr Hassan Diwura advised staff to uphold diligent work, commitment to duty, and above all, political neutrality as Civil Servants, and eschew backbiting and popularism for personal interest to impress politicians.



The staff, during and after the training, were impressed with the high level of knowledge and skills gained from the training programme, noting that it would enhance their experience and expertise in administration.

The Human Resource Officer Mabel Kwaa Badu says the world has revolved and staff must attune to the new paradigm. She assured of rolling out more initiatives to develop and build the capacity of staff geared towards improving productivity.
