ASSIN N: Assembly inaugurates EOC

The Assin North Municipal Assembly in the Central Region has inaugurated a new Educational Oversight Committee (EOC) to facilitate the smooth implementation of the ongoing enhancement, improvement, and academic structures for improved teaching and learning in the area.

The Committee which is being headed by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nicholas K. Baako is also tasked to improve educational standard of the children, invest in their children education and offer guidance to teachers to give off their best towards quality teaching and learning.

Speaking in an interview, the MCE noted that the committee’s preliminary task will be to visit various schools across the municipality to access their results in order to have firsthand information with regards to their individual performance.

He said the visit will afford the committee an opportunity to identify various challenges facing schools in the municipality for swift redress.

The MCE emphasized the need for stakeholders - parents, teachers, media, corporate organizations to come together to ensure access to quality education for all in the area.

“The committee alone cannot handle this difficult task, the responsibility lies on us all; the media, parents, chiefs, community leaders and every individual to his/her role to play to achieve the task ahead” he said.
