Tain District benefits from rural telephony project

Three communities in the Tain District of Brong Ahafo region namely Namasa, Nsuhunu and Donkorkrom have benefited from the Rural Telephony project under the Ministry of Communication which was recently inaugurated by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo at Abenaso in the Eastern region.

The rural telephony project is being rolled out by the National Communications Authority and Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), in partnership with MTN and Huawei Technologies Limited.

The project which is aimed at providing fast and reliable mobile telephony connectivity in rural parts of the country is also to ensure the citizenry enjoy full benefits of the internet and emergence of digital technology.

The project will connect the various towns and its surrounding communities in the District with ICT facilities and telecommunication services the project will be providing voice and data connectivity and enhance telecommunication and internet services in the district.
