Kintampo North farmers receive free cashew seedlings
Farmers are been presented with free cashew seedlings in the Kintampo North Municipality in the Brong Ahafo Region in an efforts to boost the cultivation of the crop and make it one of the cash crops like cocoa.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Micheal Sarkodie Baffoe noted that the Kintampo North Municipality is among some seventy-eight selected Municipal and District Assemblies acros the country target for the cultivation of the cashew crop in commercial quantity.

The crop would be cultivated under the "Planting for Export for Rural Development", as part of the government’s “one district, one factory policy”.



Distributing the seedlings, Mr. Micheal Sarkodie Baffoe stated that, about 2,650 farmers are targeted across the municipality in which one to three acres of land will be available to support the farmers.



Adding that all one has to do to access the free seedlings is to just register with Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in the municipality.



The MCE advised all including the staff of the assembly, the youth, men and women to take advantage of the plantation and go into farming.
